NEW DELHI: India's Sania Mirza crashed out of Wimbledon after losing to Virginie Razzano of France 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 in the first round on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old Hyderabadi had met 96th-ranked Razzano only once in 2007 at Los Angeles where also she had lost to her in straight sets.
The Indian has never moved beyond the second round, reaching the stage four times. Now for Sania, the doubles, however, will be her best chance to have a crack at the title.
