Story:- Mary Katherine aka MK longing for his father, Professor Bomba visits her at his old house in a forest. Professor Bomba a somewhat mad inventor lives with his dog, Ozzie in the forest where he believes lives a group of tiny warriors that protects forest. Though Bomba is delighted by the visit of her daughter, he is too near to his discovery that he unwillingly neglects MK. MK gets furious by this neglect from her father decides to leave him pasting a goodbye note to one of his monitors. Just when she is about to leave, Ozzie knocks past her and runs into the woods. MK. rusn behind her to look for him and suddenly touches a glowing, falling leaves and shrinks to a minuscule state. She discovers the group of warriors Bomba has studied, known as the Leafmen. These Leafmen led by their Queen Tara are engaged in a war against forces of rot known as the Boggans and their leader Mandrake. MK gets trapped in the middle of the war and the quest of finding her way back to human world.

Review:- Positing that there’s a secret battle in the forest between life and decay, the new animated film Epic proceeds to zoom into a world of tiny forest Samurai (called the Leaf-Men) who ride hummingbirds and fight against the forces of darkness and rot, epitomized by gray, scaly, gnarly creatures called the Boggens. Along comes ordinary-size human M.K. (voiced by Amanda Seyfried), newly arrived at the woodland home of her nutty scientist father (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) and who lands in this magic tiny forest people world just as the beautiful and ethereal Queen Tara (Beyoncé) is dying. Given a magic flower pod by the queen, M.K. joins a veteran Leaf warrior named Ronin (Colin Farrell) and a brash young rebel named Nod (Josh Hutcherson) as they seek to preserve the pod, which will help them crown their new queen if they allow it to bloom in the light of the moon during a Summer Solst … oh, forget it, it’s too elaborate to explain here. For a movie that’s so generic, Epic sure does throw a lot of contrived mythology at us.

Epic will one day live on someone’s alphabetized movie shelf right next to the 2007 spoof Epic Movie, and that rather undiscriminating consumer may well wonder which of the two is more derivative. This one was co-written and executive-produced (and production-designed) by the award-winning children’s author and illustrator William Joyce, who also wrote the charming and modestly fanciful book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, from which the story was adapted. His work and designs were also behind last year’s animated film Rise of the Guardians, which, too, overzealously synthesized well-worn children’s themes and folk archetypes into a movie-friendly action tale. But Rise of the Guardians had inventiveness, energy, and rapid-fire wit — all elements that Epic sorely lacks.

Salman Khan's co-star Sana Khan missing after kidnapping accusation

Sana Khan, who was Salman Khan’s favourite contestant in Bigg Boss’ sixth season and also bagged a leading role in his home production Mental, has gone missing since April 30 and the production team is worried about her next shooting schedule for the film.

Sana has been accused of helping her cousin Naved and his friends in an attempt to abduct a 15-year-old girl. Naved became friends with the minor on Facebook and they started hanging out with a mutual group of friends. But Naved proposed marriage to her and she declined. The boy continued to stalk her. The girl shut her Facebook account and completely cut herself off from him. But Naved continued to pursue her, and when she became firm, he issued threats to her.

On April 30, the gang of friends including Naved’s sister Sana, who was at the wheel, stopped the girl when she was on her way back home from her tuition in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. Naved and his friends tried to drag her into the car, but she managed to free herself.

When she reached home, Naved, his friends and Sana had already reached there and were arguing with her mother. After they left, the girl’s mother lodged a police complaint. Naved and his friends Kshitij and Vismit were arrested the same evening. They were charged with kidnapping, wrongful restraint and trespass.

Sana though has gone underground since then. The police looked for her at her Oshiwara apartment, but she wasn’t there. She has a Mental schedule in Lavasa early next week, and the production team is now worried about the repercussions of the incident. A senior police inspector of Turbhe police station said his team are still looking for Sana.

Naseeruddin Shah said no to Shoaib Mansoor's 'Bol'

Bol is veteran TV director Shoaib Mansoor's second feature film. His first, Khuda Ke Liye, though a passionate and worthy work, and certainly one that deserved accolades for its bravery in tackling some of Pakistan's most complex social issues, lacked the artistic sophistication required to convincingly tell a story. Bol is all set for Eid release.

News is that Naseeruddin Shah, who has worked with Shoaib in his previously acclaimed ‘Khuda Ke Liye’ was offered the pivotal role of the father ‘Hakim Sahib’ done by Pakistani actor Manzar Sehbai in the movie, but could not do it as he had already signed another movie at the same time.

The actor went on to say, “I have had the good fortune to work in Shoaib Mansoor’s Khude Ke Liye and I consider it to be the most significant film that I’ve done in my life.”

The actor, after watching the movie was heard praising the director’s honest and impeccable work along with the superlative performances by all the actors. He said, “BOL is absolutely the kind of film that Khude Ke Liye should be followed up by. It deals with an even more important statement like faith and empowerment of women. I have seldom seen a statement made with as much power and feeling as this film. This is yet another film to be proud of. I can only find myself wishing I was a part of this film”.

Not only this, the actor loved the movie to such and extent that he is showing the film to his friends and family in a couple days!

'Singham' screening resumes in Karnataka

The screening of Bollywood film ''Singham'' commenced in Karnataka Saturday after the removal of some ''objectionable'' dialogues, a day after disruptions in its screening, officials said.

Pro-Kannada activists from the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike had gathered in front of Tribhuvan theatre here Friday to protest what they called anti-Kannada dialogues in the Ajay Devgn-Kajal Agarwal starrer.

Tribhuvan theatre's assistant manager Anant told IANS that the objectionable dialogues had been removed from all the prints and digital discs of the film which released Friday.

Shows were organised in the Tribhuvan theatre where a group of police officers from nearby Upparpet police station watched the film along with the activists, he said.

"The pro-Kannada activists and police authorities have confirmed that there are no objectionable dialogues in the film now," Anant said.

The police officers later sent a report to their higher authorities. The screening will now resume in 27 theatres where it was scheduled to be screened.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president Narayana Gowda told IANS Friday that one of the dialogues in the film refers to "Kannadigas as dogs".

The film's screening was also disrupted in Bidar, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Hubli and Kolar.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, "Singham" is the remake of a Tamil blockbuster with the same name. It has been remade in Kannada as "Kempe Gowda".

Salman Khan praises Ajay Devgan physique Singham

Salman's surely going modest, considering the fact that he is known to have one of the best bodies in the tinsel town. Salman Khan recently saw the first look of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham’ that has Ajay Devgn flaunt his new found toned physique and is all gung-ho about it. Salman and Ajay are quite close friends and if Salman is friends with someone he can do anything and everything for him or her.

Salman Khan is simply smitten by Ajay Devgn’s new look in ‘Singham’. The actor has gone gaga over Ajay’s six-pack abs on the micro-blogging site, twitter.

“Oye teri!!! Baap re baap. Superb Ajay's body is looking. Too good(sic),” said Salman on Twitter.

Salman Khan is the script writer for Dabangg sequel

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is surely having the time of his life. Everything he touches is turning into gold. Salman, the superstar is reborn and is giving others run for their money. The latest buzz in tinsel town is that superstar Salman Khan has once again turned into a script writer for the sequel of his blockbuster film Dabangg.

Ever since the news of the sequel of Dabangg was announced, numerous things have been heard about the film.

Abhinav Kashyap, the director of Dabangg was first kicked out of the sequel. Then Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan stepped in to take up director’s job. The latest we hear is Salman is likely to write the script for Dabangg 2. We have seen his pen power in Veer and it should be a bold decision to do it again. Even Sohail, the younger Khan has some inputs for Dabangg 2 it seems.

When contacted, Arbaaz said, "Yes, the sequel is happening. It's a continuation, so the characters that were initially involved, will be a part of the sequel too." About his absence from Dabangg 2, he said, "If there are any new characters, they will be talked about when things are final."

He further informed that the shooting would start in 2012. "The film will release only in 2013. So what's the beauty of revealing everything before starting the movie?" he said.

Vidya Balan refrains to wear sleeveless tops

When Vidya took up the role of Silk Smita in Milan Lutharia’s Dirty Picture she knew what she was getting in to which is going glamorous. But when she was asked to wear Sleeveless tops for the role of Silk Smitha she freaked out.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan refused to wear sleeveless tops for her upcoming movie ‘Dirty Picture’. Her plight could be be understood, as the actress has put on some weight and a bikini would be a bit too much in such a situation.

Balan refused to wear sleeveless tops just because of the fact that her arms would look flabby because of the weight that she has put on. The actress is currently shooting for the movie directed by Milan Luthria in Hyderabad.

As Vidya has to portray a sexy image for the role of Silk Smitha in the movie, it is expected that she has to carry a sexy image.

Sources from the production unit have said that the actress is not at all fussy about her costumes and has completely trusted her directors. The actress has only suggested that she would be refraining to wear sleeveless tops.

Unveiled: SRK's Don 2 look

The first poster for the much awaited hyped sequel, Don 2: The Chase Continues is out today, as is the trailer. The poster looks adequate at best, but the trailer looks good!

The film is a sequel to the 2006 film Don: The Chase Begins Again, which itself is a remake of the 1978 film Don. Reprising their roles from the previous film Don actors Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Om Puri will continue to be a part of Don 2 also. Actress Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor are playing new characters while Hrithik Roshan has a cameo appearance.

The theatrical trailer of the film will be releasing on 15 July 2011 with Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The idea for the sequel was conceptualized when the first installment was released by Farhan Akhtar. However, he got involved with other project and meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan also did Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and My Name Is Khan.

Last year Akhtar revealed that the script and locations for the movie has been finalized. The shooting for Don 2 began from October 10, 2010 in Berlin, Germany. Actor Shahrukh Khan has donned a totally different look for the film. The actor has bulked up for the film with proper six-pack built. The shooting of the films have almost ended. Don 2 is slated for a December 23, 2011release.

Kakli rubbishes her Pregnancy reports

Rumours have been making rounds about actor Kalki Koechlin expecting a baby after she is said to have vomited at a promotional campaign of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Kalki who was last seen there has not been present for the other promotional events.

Kalki rubbishes her pregnancy reports, she said: "Ha ha! No no I'm definitely not expecting. Why do I look that fat? I'm not the mother kinds. Anurag keeps telling me I'll change my mind, but it just doesn't look like it right now. And even if I do someday choose motherhood, there are so many children without homes. I'll probably adopt."

The 28-year-old actor, who is playing the love interest of Abhay Deol in ZNMD seems to have no qualms about her less visiblity in the promos.

Kalki will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s “That Girl in Yellow Boots” which is due to release in September 2011.

Priyanka Chopra to do a cameo for SRK's Ra.One

Its very clear that Priyanka and Shahrukh are just good friends. Everyone in Bollywood is aware of Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra’s friendship. Recently Shah Rukh asked if Priyanka would do a cameo in his upcoming film Ra. One. Being a good friend Priyanka happily agreed.

Now SRK and Priyanka, both will sizzle the screen even before Don 2 releases. Few days ago Shah Rukh asked priyanka to do a long romantic sequence with him in Ra. One. The sources close to the actress says that she is too happy to accept the offer.

A source says, “It’s a long-drawn romantic sequence. It can be actually called a cameo by Priyanka. It will require her to perform a lot of stunts as well. RA.One is essentially a fantasy film, and this is sort of a sweet dream sequence.”

For Priyanka’s costumes, the producers are consulting Manish Malhotra to create a larger than life look.

Source says,“Shah Rukh is extremely comfortable working with Priyanka. Having worked in Don, Don 2 and an item number in Billu together, they share a great working rapport. However, he did consult Anubhav Sinha before asking the actress.”

Priyank is currently on a vacation in United States. She will fly down to Mumbai for Shah Rukh’s dream venture Ra.One. the song will be shot during the next.

Shahid's special 'Mausam' confession

One of the most awaited love stories of the year ‘Mausam’, headlining Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor getting lot of attention from the start of the shoot. Shahid Kapoor says he is sentimentally attached to his actor father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut 'Mausam'.

Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Shahid said that apart from playing the lead role in the film, he has helped in every way to make the film as appealing possible.

"It's a film that's very close to my heart. It's a film, which we made as a family together. It's a film where I have given one and a half years of my life. Of course wherever I am required for the film I am there," Shahid told reporters at a promotional shoot of car music system company Pioneer, for which he has been the brand ambassador for the last three years.

Releasing September 16, 'Mausam' is a love story where Sonam Kapoor plays the lead opposite Shahid.

Two other films - Imran Khan's 'Meri Brother Ki Duhlan' and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Rockstar'-were initially scheduled to release September 9. However, 'Rockstar's release has been postponed to November 11.

Shahid is happy that all the three films are not releasing at the same time.

"All the three films were supposed to release at the same time and I am happy that it's not happening so because that's not good for the business," said Shahid.

"Imran's and Ranbir's film are coming and I am curious how their films are. Around the same time 'Mausam' is also coming and I hope people enjoy all the three films," he added.

RGV apologises for 'Not A Love Story' steamy scenes

It is known news that the eccentric genius Ramgopal Varma is arriving with his new movie Not A Love Story. Now, it is heard that the film has got a fair share of lovemaking scenes. This has Mahie Gill in the lead along with Deepak Dobriyal.

The film reveals the bold and intense scenes shot between Mahie Gill and Deepak Dobriyal. But it seems Ram Gopal Varma was not comfortable shooting these sequences and sent apologetic message to the leading lady Mahie Gill.

Apparently, RGV sends a sms to his lead actress apologising, for making her enact intense love scenes in the film. Acting uncharacteristically, Ramu sent the actress a text message saying sorry after she had to perform intense love-making sequences.

Apparently the love scenes between the two were so intense and torrid that Ramu left the sets and allowed an assistant to be present until the two actors finished their libidinous business.

Recalling the incident, Mahie laughed, "Ramuji was very apologetic about the love making sequences. I had to reassure him it was fine. Deepak and I were just doing our job. But Ramuji was really disturbed, almost as if he was subjecting a close relative a daughter or a sister to an uncomfortable situation. After Deepak and I finished the love scene, he sent me a message saying sorry."

Genelia D'Souza is married to John Abraham

A Pandit stubbornness might cost Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza their marriage plans. The Hindu priest insists the lovebirds cannot take saat pheras anytime soon.

Genelia D'Souza and John Abraham are acting together for the film ‘Force’ directed by Nishikant Kamat. The film includes a scene where both of them get married. Apparently, the film unit has arranged a real pandit (Pandit Bhagwat Guruji) instead of a junior artist. And the pandit claims that he forgot that it was a film shoot and read out the real mantras.

Now, following the reports of Genelia and Riteish planning marriage, Pandit Bhagwat Guruji approached the film producer’s (Vipul Amrutlal Shah) office and said that Genelia got married to John and cannot marry Ritesh.

Pandit Bhagwat says he was asked to perform the rituals authentically by director Nishikant Kamat. "John and Genelia are husband and wife," he says, adding, "I need to make them understand that I have pronounced the mantras one does at a real wedding. Everything from wearing a mangalsutra, to exchanging garlands and taking the saat pheras has been done."

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah says, "The pandit is now mad at us for getting him involved in this scene. He's treating it like a real wedding, but I want to make him understand that that's not the case. In my entire career, I've never experienced anything of this sort!"

Kareena set to romance Akshay Kumar again

Kareena Kapoor has really become a busy bee these days. And this even forced her to loose out on an opportunity to work in very interesting projects. The leatest Buzz in the Btown is that the Kapoor girl will be seen romancing Khiladi Kumar, Akshay Kumar.

It's heard that our B-town's hot, talented beauty Kareena Kapoor has been roped in for the sequel of 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai'. The actress is said to share the screen space with Akshay Kumar who plays the protagonist in the second version of the blockbuster movie.

Earlier speculations were rife that Sonakshi Sinha is being considered to play opposite Akshay. Then top names like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra were also thrown about.

However, now with Kareena, seems like OUATIM 2 will have a fresh and exciting identity. Bebo will probably play Mandakini, Dawood (Akshay)'s love interest in the sequel.

Kareena and Akshay have already worked together in movies like 'Aitraaz', 'Bewafaa' 'Kambakkht Ishq' as a pair besides few others. In OUATIM 2, let's see how their chemistry works against the backdrop of underworld.

Shahid Kapoor: I would love to act with dad

While Shahid himself is no slouch in the acting department, he has, much like his father, excelled in complicated roles. But it came as a surprise when the star actor demanded more from his son, egging him on for more takes. In fact, Kapur has based Shahid's character on his younger self while living in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Talking about the experience, Shahid says, "Dad has a way of acting and showing how he wants a scene done. Initially, I found it very intimidating. The first few days were very tough for me. It was also hard to replicate what he was showing me. I was extremely nervous and awkward. But somewhere we found a comfort level and I can say that the making of this film helped us develop a whole new relationship."

Was he treated differently because he was the director's son? "Well, yes. I have worked with loads of directors but have never been given a hint that I gave a crappy shot! Often dad would make me do several retakes and do the scene exactly how he wanted it. So, I had to work that much harder."

What's the one thing he would say is the highlight of working with his dad? "This experience just made me realise that I would love to act in a film with him."

Mallika Sherawat lies about Kamal's 'Viswaroopam'

Mallika Sherawat who is well famous for her “less clothes more comfort’ attitude is all set to make her comeback into Kollywood with a Tamil movie “Vishwaroopam”. If reports are to be believed, the actress is claiming that she was offered a role by Kamal Hassan for his movie ‘Vishwaroopam” which is likely going to feature actress Deepika Padukone on lead.

The seductive beauty is mellowing to her near and dear that from September 2011, she will be busy for almost 20 days in a Kollywood project of Kamal Hassan. The actress who played a cameo in “Dasavaataram” of Kamal Hassan will do a similar stunt in his ‘Vishwaroopam” as well.

However, close to sources to Kamal Hassan reveal that, the versatile actor, who is now directing the movie has not approached Mallika sherawat and it is the actress, who is self claiming to be offered a role, in Kamal Hassan project in order to gain some free publicity.

Sources say that, Sonakshi Sinha mother who played spoilsport and refused to some proposed on screen kissing scenes for Sonakshi Sinha with Kamal and so Kamal Hassan is opting for more broad minded beauty like Deepika Padukone or Anushka Sharma in his project.

Hrithik and Harry Potter to clash yet again

Hrithik Roshan’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara will be releasing along with Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows: Part 2 on July 15th for the second time. Hrithik will likely to feel effect of Harry Potter again.

On November 19 last year, Guzaarish released along with Harry Potter and the deathly Hollows Part 1. In fact it was observed that Guzaarish did not do well because audience preferred to watch wizard Kid Harry Potter more.

The world popular Harry Potter franchise HPDH1 recorded an outstanding box office collection. This time too, HPDH2 will release in several languages worldwide. The film is believed to be in 3D and thus the audience excitement is going to be high.

ZNMD stars Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin in main lead and has a good buzz around it. However, considering that Harry Potter is one of the most popular film franchisees, it's going to be a tough competition for ZNMD.

Hrithik faced disappointment during Guzaarish as his film got poor response due to the same release date. Let's hope this time luck favours Hrithik and his ZNMD become a success.

Kareena Kapoor cut short her vacations to shoot Bodyguard!

Bollywood Queen Kareena Kapoor has been signed to play the female lead in Salman Khan’s next movie Bodyguard, which is a remake of a Malayalam film starring Dileep and Nayantara.

Bebo who went on holiday with her actor boyfriend Saif Ali Khan was back in time to shoot for her upcoming film “Bodyguard”. By this act she has given a proof for her seriousness regarding her profession and her concerns related with time. There are reports that Bebo and Chote Nawab were out to enjoy a short vacation in Paris while the shooting of “Bodyguard” was being carried out.

Kareena promised to the entire unit of the film and especially to Salman Khan that she will be back in time to resume with the shooting. It has been revealed by sources that the movie was running out of schedule and Bebo was required to manage with that.

At that time Salman Kahn asked her to be there and Bebo kept her promise to cut short her vacation and flew back to India. It is also informed that Bebo took a Delhi bound flight from Paris and then she managed to reach Chandigarh. After that she further travelled to reach Patiala city where the shooting was going on.

After this entire travelling schedule the actress was very tired but to keep up with her words, she some how managed to head for the shooting straight away. This is a true example of professionalism set by the actress and has given inspiration to all other actors to behave this way.

Priyanka to give `Munni`, `Sheila` a run for their money!

Looks like, the rage of item songs will never vanish from Indian cinema. It is believed that an Indian film is not complete until and unless an item is injected in it. These item numbers are considered to be popularity stunts. At least for the initial few days. And if that item number has an A-lister gyrating to it, it helps the film to market itself better.

Aamir Khan did it for Delhi Belly. And even Ranbir Kapoor is all over television shaking his hips to the Tain Tain Phissh promotional item number from Chillar Party. Seems like Priyanka Chopra too doesn’t want to be left behind.

We have seen Priyanka shaking her waist as ‘Desi girl’ with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in “Dostana”. Following the trend as others Priyanka is now ready to show her jalwe in Priyadarshan's upcoming “Tezz,” that stars Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, and Kangana Ranaut. This will be Priyanka’s first solo item number.

Also previously, there were reports that she had refused to do any item number, but it seems that now, she too is going with flow and the craze of item numbers has caught her attention too. The music for the dance number composed by Sajid-Wajid.

Her item number is already been compared to the ‘Munni’ and ‘Sheila’ act. Priyanka will be seen shaking her hips in a specially designed setting, which has been made particularly for the song.

Zoya Akhtar: I didn't know Katrina at all

Director Zoya Akhtar is looking forward to her next release Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The director had a tough time setting up the perfect cast of the film, especially for the character essayed by actress Katrina Kaif. Zoya reveals that she did not know Katrina till she roped her for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Zoya Akhtar didn’t give the female cast of her forthcoming release, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) even a thought when she and co-writer Reema Kagti were scripting it. “I didn’t write the film with Katrina in mind. I actually wanted to cast someone new for that character,” says Zoya, who needed a half-Caucasian-half-Indian face for the part.

Admitting that ZNMD does seem more like a ‘guy’ film, the director spent a lot of time auditioning new faces in India and abroad, but didn’t find any actor worth the part. “I just couldn’t find any good actors. And around the same time, I happened to meet Katrina at a party. I really liked her vibe and felt she would fit the role,” She did not know the actress well, till she cast her adds Zoya.

Having been a casting director for many films including Farhan’s Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Zoya understands the importance of getting the right face for the right part. “The three boys fit the roles perfectly,” she adds. Recalling her many road trips that inspired the film’s story, Zoya says, “Luck By Chance was such an interior film. So when I finished that, I wanted to go out and shoot big wide frames and do something, visually and thematically different. And within three months, Reema and I had the script.”
